Itinerary
Day 1 - Olympos/Demre to Gokkaya Bay
On the morning of your cruise, our ground crew will come collect you from your accommodation in Olympos valley or from Demre bus station. The pickup from Olympos is 10am and 12pm from Demre bus station. After all guests are collected we will travel to Demre harbour where we will board our gulet for the next four days. We will have a short briefing before launching into the tour.
Our first site is an ancient town dating back to the Lycian period which sunk into the sea after an earthquake in the 2nd century. That is, the Sunken City of Kekova. We slowly cruise past this site and witness the remains of the stone walls of houses from another time. A short time later we will moor near Simena to trek to the castle that overlooks the village and surrounding region of Kekova.
The final stop of the day is Gokkaya Bay, a turtle breeding haven and home to the shack bar, Smugglers Inn. A free boat service will pick you up and take you to the bar in the later evening for dancing and partying. Or if relaxing is more up your alley, stay on board under the starlit sky. (L,D)
Day 2 - Gokkoya Bay to Aquarium Bay
The anchor is drawn as the sun rises over the bay to motor towards Kas harbour, a small fishing village known for its charming people and alleyways. Around breakfast, we will moor in this harbour giving guests time to explore the town. Pick up a unique piece of silver jewellery or stroll to the large ancient theatre to the west of the town.
Scuba diving is made available for an extra activity here. After a day spent exploring Kas, we will head to the area of Kalkan and anchor down in Aquarium Bay. (B,L,D)
Day 3 - Aquarium Bay to St Nicholas Island
Butterfly Valley is the first view for guests this morning. An untouched valley east of Oludeniz, it is also home to over 136 species of moths and butterflys. Take the hike and rinse off under the waterfall or stay and relax on the beach. Next stop is Oludeniz, a swimming and lunch stop. Paragliding is available as an extra activity here.
Our afternoon cruise will bring us to St Nicholas Island named after Turkey’s very own Santa Claus. For a small entrance fee, guests can enter the island, explore the ruins and watch a magical sunset from the top. For those adrenaline seekers, watersport boats will visit the gulet throughout the afternoon with a variety of activities for purchase from water-skiing to parasailing. (B,L,D)
Day 4 - St Nicholas Island to Fethiye
Wake in the early light, take a morning swim and enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast before we venture to our final stop on the way to Fethiye harbour. We will pull into one of the bays near Fethiye; Samanlik or Tarzan Bay. We have lunch and a swim before ending our tour in Fethiye harbour. Our ground crew will assist with directions to your hotel or can help with onward travel. (B,L)
